Actriz estadounidense
Nació el 18 de diciembre de 1916 en St. Louis (Estados Unidos).
Se inició a los 13 años como bailarina, fue contratada por el chorus girls de Samuel Goldwyn.
Trabajó alternativamente en Broadway y en Hollywood hasta 1940.
Fue en ese mismo año cuando tuvo la oportunidad de sustituir en el escenario a Alice Faye que al caer enferma también debió renunciar al papel principal de la película Serenata argentina (Down Argentine Way).
Exhibió sus piernas perfectas, (aseguradas en un millón de dólares) durante su carrera, el tiempo que duró la edad de oro de la comedia musical de la Fox con la que había firmado un contrato.
En 1944, fijó en la película Pin-Up Girl, el tipo de chica con la que soñaban los soldados en los frentes de combate, y cuya figura sirvió generosamente de modelo para sus versiones dibujadas.
Betty Grable falleció en Santa Mónica, California, el 20 de noviembre de 1973.
