Roy Rogers

Actor estadounidense
Nació el 5 de noviembre de 1911 en Cincinnati, Ohio (Estados Unidos).
Se trasladó a California, donde trabajó como chofer hasta que en 1937 participó en una prueba en el Studio Republic, donde buscaban un cowboy cantante.
Vestido de blanco, nunca violento con los enemigos, fue durante doce años (1943-1954) el número uno de las estrellas del Oeste. Con su caballo Trigger, el rudo George “Gaby” Hayes cabalga y toca la guitarra en innumerables películas.
Tiempo después, prosigue con su carrera en la televisión. Montó un rodeo anual muy lucrativo y realizó inversiones inmobiliarias, tuvo una cadena de comidas rápidas y una compañía de producción televisiva.
En 1967 inauguró un museo en el Apple Valley, donde se podía ver embalsamado a su caballo Trigger.
Tuvo una vida familiar difícil, con una serie de tragedias sufridas por algunos de sus nueve hijos (de los cuales cinco eran adoptados). Una niña murió a los dos años por complicaciones de paperas, otra murió en un accidente de tránsito y un tercer hijo murió por asfixia durante su carrera militar. Se casó con Dale Evans (compañera de reparto) el 31 de diciembre de 1947.
Roy Rogers falleció el 6 de julio de 1998, en su casa de Victorville (California).
